Lovely wee BBC program about SuperJam!
A few weeks ago, the BBC came along to one of our SuperJam tea parties and filmed everyone dancing, eating scones and having a great afternoon.
They also came round to my house and we made a pot of strawberry jam.
This was all for a wee program that they were making and the whole feature is about seven minutes long and was broadcast on BBC2 last week.
The program is part of a very nicely filmed series about Scottish food and you can see the feature about SuperJam here (we're on at at 6:40). Labels: bbc, entrepreneur, food, health, media, superjam

Sponsor Joe's Mustache!
Our Joe, seen here sporting a mustache-less face, has been working at SuperJam for a few months. His favorite flavour is Raspberry & Cranberry and the highlight of his job with us so far was meeting Sir Terry Wogan..
Joe has very courageously decided to grow a sponsored mustache throughout the month of November ('Movember'), to raise money for prostate cancer research. SuperJam is going to chip a few hundred pounds into his effort and it would be really wonderful if you could maybe donate a few pounds to the cause here.
Hopefully Joe will raise a lot of money for a really worthwhile cause and not too many people will laugh at his silly mustache.
(We'll post a picture of his mustache at the end of the month!)

Suggest a new SuperJam stockist and get free jam!
W e’re constantly working on trying to get SuperJam into new independent stores; upmarket delis, quirky coffee shops and earthy farm shops, as well as B&Bs and hotels.
If there’s a particular shop that you visit that you think should stock SuperJam, let us know their details using the form here.
If they agree to start selling our wonderful products, we will send you a free jar of jam in the post to thank you for taking the time to help us to spread the love!

SuperJam Cream Teas at Foodies Festival
As part of the world-famous 'Edinburgh Festival', Foodies Festivals will be hosting a massive food and drink event in Holyrood Park from tomorrow till Sunday.
We will have a stand there, serving freshly baked scones with SuperJam and the amazing Rodda's Cornish Clotted Cream. I will also be giving a talk ('SuperJam: The Adventures of Jam Boy') at 11am each day.
You should definitely come along, for some scones and jam and for the chance to see demonstrations by top chefs and to sample some of the many culinary delights that Scotland has to offer.

SuperJam's First Shop!
This week, we made the rather exciting step of opening the first SuperJam retail outlet, in the Union Street Mall in Aberdeen. We are selling the full range of products, as well as oatcakes from our friends Nairn's and perhaps some other products later down the line. This is a bit of an experiment at the moment; if it goes well, we may open extra outlets in other malls. It is a great way of giving people the opportunity to try the products and if it proves successful, will mean that we are going to have to take on permanent staff.
Of course, if you live in Aberdeen, and you don't have jobs to attend to please do feel free to stop by and say hello.

The Highland Show
 - James, Dad and myself manning the stand. Sorry for a couple of weeks of not posting. Everything has been dead busy. I spent a couple of weeks travelling around the West Midlands - visiting Waitrose stores. This was pretty hard work. I got up at 6:30am every day, travelled for a couple of hours to get to the stores, worked until 7pm and then travelled back to go to bed. I got to see Brum and bring SuperJam to a few thousand more families, which makes it all worthwhile. Batman and Robin in Stourbridge. I also went on a cookery programme with Levi Roots, the Reggae Reggae sauce guy, which was cool. Will be shown on the telly in a few weeks, might be able to stick a clip on the blog. As soon as I got back to Scotland, I had to spend four days at the Highland Show. Apparently, it's the biggest public event in Scotland with a few hundred thousand visitors over the four days. Certainly felt pretty big. We sold thousands of pots of jam and everyone was really interested in the products. Met a lot of other small food producers and had fun sharing stories and experiences. I'm totally shattered now (Sunday evening) and looking forward to a few exciting things next week. By the way, if you are a Facebook user, then make sure you get yourself down to the SuperJam Fan Group created by jam fanatic Yvie and sign up! Over and out, Jam boy.
